About the McGill Left Review

The McGill Left Review is a student-run interdisciplinary academic journal and website which cultivates progressive and leftist discourse among the McGill community. Though the MLR is an ostensibly leftist publication, we are open to any and all contributions that are from a left-of-center perspective - ranging from the moderate to the radical. We publish academic pieces from any discipline written by McGill students that focus on issues pertaining to:

  • Leftism
  • Progressivism
  • Feminism
  • Environmentalism
  • Socialism
  • Anarchism
  • Labour rights
  • Race relations
  • Economic reform
  • LGBTQ rights
  • Critical theory

and any other perspective that seeks to disrupt the political status quo with fairness, equity and inclusion.
